Knowledge Before Booking
A practical guide from the GTH PRO travel editorial library.
Start with what you actually plan to enter
A city pass might look attractive when it advertises many attractions, but value depends on the specific museums and experiences you will visit. Make a short list of genuine priorities and check whether they are included in the exact pass tier and whether special exhibitions, transport or timed reservations are extra.
Calculate with a sensible pace
Compare the sum of individual current admission fees with the pass price in the same currency. Do not count a museum that you are unlikely to visit. Add any activation rules, consecutive-day expiry conditions, reservation fees or restrictions on repeat entry. Treat an attraction included in an illustration as unconfirmed until it appears in the provider's official terms.
Reservations can still be required
A pass is not always a confirmed timeslot. For popular venues, look up the instructions for pass holders and ensure an arrival time can be reserved. Review accessibility, identification, age rules and cancellation conditions for the pass itself.
Final decision checklist
- List realistic sites that fit within each day.
- Verify pass-specific eligibility and inclusions.
- Compare supplier prices only after selecting the date.
- Read refund terms and find the merchant of record.
- Research Paris guide, city experiences and source-mapped cities.
Never infer live ticket availability from OpenStreetMap or a generic city article.
