Knowledge Before Booking
A practical guide from the GTH PRO travel editorial library.
Find the right experience, not just the lowest price
A city tour, day trip and private activity can have very different inclusions. Verify the experience name, expected duration, start time, location and whether entrance tickets, transport, meals or equipment are included. Confirm the group size and any extra local charges.
Date-specific availability matters
A tour may appear in a directory even when a specific departure date is unavailable. Only the provider's current booking system can confirm the date, group size and option you have selected. A listed price without a travel date should not be treated as a final per-person quotation.
Accessibility and safety requirements
Review walking distance, stairs, mobility access, medical or age restrictions, equipment requirements and weather-related changes. For outdoor activities, ask what happens when the weather prevents safe operation and whether an alternative or refund is offered.
Check cancellation and pickup details
Different options can have different refund windows. Confirm whether transport pickup is included, where to meet, which identification is required and the provider's emergency contact procedure. Save the voucher and arrival instructions offline.
Before paying

- Confirm the currency, full group total and taxes.
- Read cancellation, no-show and rescheduling policies.
- Check the merchant name and secure checkout destination.
- Keep the operator's support and emergency contact details.
