Knowledge Before Booking
A practical guide from the GTH PRO travel editorial library.
A forecast is not the supplier's decision
Boat tours, beach activities and outdoor excursions may be affected by conditions that change after booking. The operator or relevant authority decides whether a particular departure can run safely. A clear photograph, historical weather pattern or cached offer does not confirm tomorrow's trip.
Read the specific option's cancellation policy
Different departure options may have different refund and rebooking rules. Check deadlines in the local time zone, whether a customer-initiated cancellation differs from an operator cancellation, and how a weather-related refund is handled. Ask whether transport, equipment or entry tickets are refunded together or separately.
Preserve your booking evidence
Save the provider's confirmation, exact meeting point, start time and emergency contact. If the supplier cancels, keep a copy of the notice and instructions. Avoid accepting an unexpected replacement payment link unless you verify it through the provider's official channel.
Keep a reasonable alternative
- Choose an indoor museum, neighbourhood walk or flexible free-time option.
- Avoid scheduling fragile connections immediately after the activity.
- Check local advisories for beach and water activities.
- Browse Goa trip planning, Paris museums or available tours.
This checklist explains decisions, not a promise that any operator will cancel or refund.
Important travel information
